Tognetti are currently partnered with an Australian Gold explorer/producer that has an impressive Geological and Senior Management team. Exploration is an important part of the 2011/2012 strategy as they continue to expand and further develop their mining and exploration operations.

Due to a recent promotion an excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Exploration Geologist. The Senior Exploration Geologist will be part of a senior team that is responsible for the planning and execution of a number large of exploration programs across 10+ different regions.

Reporting to Exploration Manager you will be responsible for developing new projects, including managing drill rigs, geological mapping, managing the geological team of project geologists, graduates, field assistants and several contractors, liaising with government bodies, and designing and implementing exploration programs.

The role will be see you based in the office 30% of the time and 70% in the field on a flexible roster, this is a FIFO from Perth

You will be required to have the following experience:

• Tertiary qualified in Geology, post graduate qualification is an advantage
  
• 5-10 years exploration experience with at least 3 years in WA
  
• Experience supervising the exploration programme including the RC and diamond drilling, rock chip sampling, earth moving equipment and exploration staff
  
• Structural geology experience
  
• Geophysics and geochemistry is advantageous
  
• Proven experience supervising, mentor and training large exploration teams
  
• Solid track record base metals exploration, AU, CU, AG, FE
  
• Sound experience planning of exploration programmes including logistics, and drill hole positioning
  
• Experience with software such as Surpac, Vulcan or MineSight
