Geotechnical
Engineer
This international organisation has mining
operations across Australia; they have a portfolio of 15+ mining operations and
exploration programs across the globe.
The organisation is currently looking for a
Geotechnical Engineer for one of their open cut operations in QLD. You will be
responsible for geotechnical data collection, monitoring, design and analysis
to support the mine.
Responsibilities:
- Study & optimisation of pit wall slopes
and angles
- Collection, interpretation and analysis of
structural data
- Geotechnical mapping, wall monitoring and
analysis
- Develop drain hole drilling programs and
contracts
- Actively influence planning/scheduling,
production meetings
- Assisting Drill & Blast engineers
- Review management plans regarding
Geotechnical activities
To be successful you will need:
- Degree qualified Geotechnical Engineer or
related
- At least 4 years Geotechnical experience
- At least 2 years in Open Cut mining
operations
- Surpac or MineSight software Knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to manage and supervise contractors
- Ability to influence and present to senior
management
